Hi I wondering if I could get a full guide on how to install this theme?
I am using the newest version of Ubuntu.

Hello Blaze,
When you say newest version are your running 12.04.1 or 12.10 Beta 2? Also the setup you see is for Gnome-Shell and if you are running default Ubuntu then it will be using Unity. But to answer your request I do not have a full guide written up. The best I can suggest is to check each theme part and the maker will usually have steps on how to install it. I can try and answer your questions if you need further help. :-)

This is so beautiful! A perfect blend of minimalist design. I tried Ubuntu 11.10 but i was very let down by it, although looking at this makes me want to install it again

Although i'm not very knowledgeable about linux stuff as of yet, so could you guide me in the correct direction as to how i should proceed to get this setup on my desktop?

As far as i understand i would need to install the GNOME 3 DE on top of Ubuntu 11.10 (or should i use Fedora?)? If you could be so kind to post steps/ links that would help me get this after installing Ubuntu (or any other OS).

Thanks!

Hi KOSKERS,
When I ran 11.10 I installed Gnome-Shell and mutter and uninstalled Unity and Compiz along with global menu so I did not get this issue. I would have to install 11.10 to see if I could reproduce the issue. I am currently running Ubuntu 10.10. So at this time I am not sure what your issue is. Do you have a screenshot of what it looks like?

The problem is resolved.
SUDO APT-GET APPMENU*
That's OK.
Thank you.
When I using Gnome3 and Unity.I found I do not like both.LOL
Now,I will install 11.04 again with gnome classic.Heh.

If MACOS X use Linux Kernel,it is nice..

I am glad you solved the issue KOSKERS and if you are going to use gnome classic I would say go with 10.10. :-)

Nice work!

Now a stupid question: how did you get conky to work with gnome-shell?
I have oneiric and can only get conky with unity. When I log in to unity, it works. When I log to gnome-shell, no conky...

Thanks

I'm still addicted to CrunchBang Linux for now and i just don't feel at home with Gnome 3 or even Gnome 2 now.

But i do think Gnome 3 will eventually become a great DE once they provide more customisation options to users, glad see Linux Mint deciding to go with Gnome 3 too.

Gnome-shell is far too pretty. I just wish it wouldn't break Unity in Natty :( Guess I'll wait till Precise comes out.

Thank you, it is too bad Ubuntu does not put out a separate spin for Gnome-Shell this way one would not have to worry about that type of issue. On this install I removed Unity and Compiz so just using Gnome-Shell and mutter. :-)

Yeah, I wish I could get rid of Unity it. As much as I like it, it's just too broken to work with and compiz just really eats resources. Can't wait till 12.04 is released, hopefully by then the issues with 11.10 & 11.04 will be fixed. Here's hoping anyway.

I am hoping for the best on 12.04. If they wanted to go with a new DE they could have at least worked the bugs out first. It does have potential but in the current state they will just end up loosing users. But I am still hoping they get it all fixed soon. :-)

Yeah same here, I haven't lost faith yet but I'm beginning too. They broke networking in Oneiric, not too mention the screwed up the "System Settings" panel as well and also the dash & USC. :( I like Unity, but whoever the designers are, need to be sacked.

Agreed, some forethought would be in order before releasing these changes. I know change is good but not if it works worse the the prior version. I am thinking Gnome-Shell will have to be my new DE of choice. :-) It just works and with all the new plugins you get all your functionality that you had in Gnome Classic.

Haha, I know right? I like the new LightDM login screen, that's a very nice touch. Perhaps if they could continue that LightDM transparency feel through the whole Unity DE & Nautilus then I'm pretty sure I'd be sold, along with the bug fixes. But when 12.04 I'll be sure, that I'll be using Gnome-shell as my DE of choice.

Ya I do like the new Login, it looks classy for sure. I was thinking the same thing for transparency at least in Unity on the Panel so it would go with the launcher. That would really looks nice.
