Very nice!

Easily one of the best gnome scrots I've seen around here.

That green little pixel in the tray kinda ruins the whole
"noir" experience tho ;-)

Thank you very much, Ya the green check on the Dropbox does detract from it, was thinking of de-saturating the icon manually but have not done it yet. Thanks for the FYI on it. :-)

I actually made the change, it did make a difference in the look I am going to upload now. Thanks again for the tip. :-) Also thank you for looking at my other work, really enjoying Linux, now if I could just figure out how to learn Gentoo Linux, would love to install and compile a Gentoo system. :-)

Hehe, yeah it's weird how a little pixel f**k things
up when going for a monochromatic look :)

About Gentoo, u gotta be a tad bit mad to use it ;-)
Like if for example u use Ubuntu and are used to how
that works, Gentoo can be a bit of a shock if u boot
the minimal install cd ;-) "What!?!?! no one click
installer?!?!?"
.

Gentoo is the only distribution I'm ever installing
on my main puter tho!

I have used most Distros and wanted to really give it a go with Gentoo. But thanks for the FYI on how different it would be, I had a feeling it could be hair pulling exp but willing to learn. :-)

Well, if u really are interested I would certainly
recommend Gentoo a try! However, for the regular
ubuntu user who only knows the command "help"
Gentoo wouldn't be my first recommendation :)

Gentoo has a unique way of managing packages. That's
the portage system, and it's pure magic! U set up
a config file (make.conf) and then it compiles
every package with those settings...

...so u can easily build ur whole system optimized
for ur computer. But it will take some time and
some RTFM but after that it's pretty easy. It's
the setting up part that takes a little time :)

Thank you very much, I like a simple desktop, not to much going on to distract me from what I am doing. :-)

Thank you very much, for this install to speed things up I uninstalled Compiz and using Gnome compositing manager, she speedy now. Also upgrade the Kernel on this 10.04.3 install to the 3.0.12 kernel along with updated Nvidia driver.
But ya if you are going for a real light desktop LCDE and PCMANFM or same file manager and Fluxbox are great combinations along with Tin2 panel. Thanks again buddy. :-)

Yes, that's right: Visual Style. I like calling them that, rather than "themes".

Thanks, man!---I wish I was smart enough to get comfortable with Ubuntu! LOL!----But every time I try a distro, I get overwhelmed with trying to just do the basic stuff! It seems you have to practically be a true tech-whiz to enjoy it!

Your welcome, it is like the first time you use Windows just takes some getting use to, start out with just learning the basics then work your way through the rest. I started using back in 2007 and it has been a fun learning experience for me. If you decide to give it a go again and have questions I will be here if you want help. :-)
Funny I started using PC's back in the DOS days then used every version of Windows now her I am using Linux, BSD and a few others and it has been a blast. :-)
