Thank you very much Paz! Was excited to get it sorted out. Here are the steps to your question:

You just go to the Gnome-Tweak also known as advanced settings and then go to shell extensions and then from there turn off bottom panel extension. :-)

I know the feeling when after a long struggle you finally manege to figure out and get it running.. something like> :woohoo:

for your solution to my question, it's a no-go for me with my antique graphic card. I can't use Gnome-shell :(

Don't mind new Ubuntu! I'm not going to buy a new computer for running it! period! I can't believe I'm saying something like that. this kind of statement belongs to MS windows :(
