Gotham Conky Mod by mmesantos1 Gotham Conky Mod by mmesantos1
Ok so I did some basic modding to this conkyrc file. Changed the font to Antipasto and fixed the offsets to work with the new font. Also edited CPU usage for dual core CPU's and lastley added arch info as well. Also colors have been changed as well.

Original conkyrc Gotham - Conky config by :iconpsyjunta: [link]

Please let me know if you have any questions.

How to use:
1: Unzip downloaded file.

2: Copy font file to your .font folder in your home directory.

3: Re-name conkyrc to .conkyrc and copy to your home folder.

4: Press Alt+F2 then type conky to start!

NOTE: For the single core version download here: [link]

Thank you very much and yes you can edit the conkyrc file so it is on the right, just edit the "alignment" option.

Hi
First of all love your work.
Secondly is there anyway to reduce the size of the window. I want the date and time to be as close to the bottom right corner as possible but the size of the window border doesn't allow any changes i make to "gap_x" or "gap_y" to take any effect. I have tried changing "window_width" but it still leaves the window height unchanged. Any ideas on how i can do that?

Well thank you very much for your kind words. The only thing that comes to mind would be to reduce the size of the fonts then adj offsets. :-)

That was my last option. However that still doesn't help with the border issue. I still won't be able to place it as close to the screen as I want. The window border will still prevent me from doing so. :(

Ah, you found a better font for this! Nice Marc. The day's number needs some realigning to fit better though. Change its voffset to something smaller so that it's aligned with the top of the time. Also check to see how it looks on fridays, because it's a small name for a day and the Y in the end tends to hang over the stats below.

I have a little problem! I have to start conky with such command conky -c ~/.conky/conkyrc..and I also added a conky.sh in start up which contains these lines...
#!/bin/bash
Sleep 30
Conky

But it only starts the ugly black windows of default conky.

Well you want to make sure you rename file as .conkyrc and copy the file to your home directory. then you should only have to type conky to start it.

the file named conkyrc, you change the name to .conkyrc and copy to your home directory.

Btw, what does it mean - daemonizing conky?
Reply
:iconmmesantos1:
mmesantos1 Featured By Owner Aug 22, 2012  Hobbyist Interface Designer
Glad to hear it worked for you. To answer your question I had to look that one up, here is what I found on your question:

-d | --daemonize = Daemonize Conky, aka fork to background

Another explanation: the -d switch (daemonize) to launch conky as simply being drawn on the desktop without being tied to a window.

I hope this answers your question. :-)

you're welcome my friend, this version would be fine on my PC intel pentium 4HT? To use with Windows on the same HD I choose: "Install elementary alongside other operating systems" right?

:peace:

Well the Intel P4 is a single core, I can edit the conky for just a single core if you want and upload for you, just let me know when you are ready. Also yes you can install Linux along side another OS and dual boot, it is what I do I have Win 7 x64 and Ubuntu on this PC. :-)

ohh thanks bro, for now I'm downloading Elementary OS to use, I use a USB and choose the option to install alongside another operating system. You think it's a good option to use this distribution for me? I'm a newbie in the Linux world.

Yes it is user friendly and ideal for a new user to Linux so I would say a good choice. Which version of Elementary are you going to install?
